All in all, would recommend this exchange above all other's out there. Very sad to see how the US handled regulation for an ethical player in the crypto industry. Even the co-founder Jesse has at multiple times highlighted that you shouldn't keep your funds on the platform to keep crypto decentralized despite the obvious incentive for a business like Kraken to have funds staked. They were the first to bring out a proof of reserves well before the FTX calamity, showing that you shouldn't trust, but can verify. Outside of the features that Kraken offers, also appreciate how much they stay true to the crypto ethos. Especially really like the Global settings lock which ensures that nobody can change my security settings even if my password gets leaked or something. Love how much security options there are which allow for managing security in tiers. I created an account a few years ago and have never had issues. I think reputable firms are very gun shy of any questionable wallets due to the recent government crack down on crypto dealers given the collapse of FTX. I believe they did this because of the same reason as Fidelity - that the wallet I delt with on the previous day was also on their "security concerns' list and THEY WERE WATCHING OUT FOR MY SAFETY, which is good but NOT telling me the reason and giving me 72 hours to close my close my account is not a good way to gain customers. When I deposited a large sum of money the next day Kraken did not deposit it in my wallet and it made me very suspicious of Kraken. I did do a small transaction with the questionable wallet thru Kraken that went thru flawlessly. My fidelity account reason was that they had big security concerns over the Crypto wallet I was trying to deal with. The same thing happened to my Fidelity crypto account but Fidelity gave me a reason by mail where Kraken refused. UPDATE 6/12/23 As I previously stated, Kraken closed my account without reason. I lost that discount due to Kraken ineptness. I think they blocked my number ! If I paid the bill in Crypto in 3 days, I got a big discount (+$4000). I tried to call customer service numerous times since and always get a busy signal but was able to call from wife's phone. I tried to talk to customer service and demanded to speak to a supervisor or manager. After 6 phone calls to support without resolution, I reluctantly sent my info anyway via e mail and got the above account closure e mail with NO EXPLANATION. You CANNOT talk to the special team, only via e mail for security purposes ? Sending info about my account transactions over the open internet via e mail IS NOT SECURE. I called customer support & they said it will be handled via e mail from, their “special team”. The transfer showed up in my Kraken account transactions but NOT in my account balance. I sent a second wire transfer of +$25000 to fund my account with the identical info on the bank wire to pay a large bill. Bought some Bitcoin and paid a small bill, all with no problems. I originally opened my Kraken account with a small wire transfer from my bank account & everything went smoothly. Your deposit is being returned to your sending bank, please double check your bank statement for confirmation of the return.” Kraken did return all my funds including the wire that never showed up into my account. Kindly note that you may no longer use our services. For security purposes we cannot disclose the reason for this action. "Unfortunately, we must inform you that we will be closing your Kraken account. Here is what they sent via e mail to me over a wire transfer into my account which they acknowledged in my Kraken account transactions but it never showed up in my account balance. Had my account closed without explanation and was given only 72 hrs to close the account.
